The four or us were privileged to spend 4 hours in the company of Nicolas and Lloyd who, after a most warm welcome when they picked us up, guided, informed, entertained and interested us. Impossible not to be taken up by their own natural enthusiasm. They were mines of information not only on wine-making and tasting but on the historical and geographical aspects of the region. Never a dull moment, thanks also to their sense of humour! Excellent value for money.
We tried to book a group tour with Swiss Riviera Wine Tours a day before the tour date. After submitting an inquiry online we received a prompt reply. The tours were full but given the ideal weather and conditions on Lake Geneva, Nicolas offered us a private tour using his magnificently restored 1966 Riva Super Florida powerboat. We would meet him at Vevey, tour the farmer’s market, have a picnic lunch, navigate up the western shore of Lake Geneva, and have a wine tasting during our tour of the famous Chateau de Chillon. We were excited upon booking but little did we imagine how memorable the experience would be! It was, by far, one of the best tours among all our travels across continents. We enjoyed the weather, the lake, the boat, the scenery, the food, the wines, and above all, Nicolas’ company. Thank you so much for a wonderful time! We surely look forward to another visit.
